8th Grade Promotion Dance
Friday, May 16 - 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Multipurpose Room
The 8th Grade Promotion Dance is a special evening for dancing and socializing. Our dance theme this year is “A Starry Night.” The dance is a celebration for our 8th-grade students, and is not meant to be a formal event or prom. There is no charge for students to attend the dance, and complimentary refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Pueblo PTO and donations. If you are able to make a snack or monetary donation to make this night amazing for our 8th-grade students, please sign up here!
This dance is for Pueblo 8th-grade students only, and, per Kyrene District guidelines, students must be in school for half a school day on the day of the dance to be able to attend the dance. The campus will be closed after school, and students must leave campus between school dismissal and the start of the dance.
We expect that students will be dressed in age-appropriate clothing. Tuxedos and prom dresses would not be considered appropriate for this dance, but we love to see students dress up for this special occasion. We continue to ask for every parent’s cooperation in not employing limousines to transport students to and from the dance.
Some students choose to ask another Pueblo 8th-grade student to attend this dance with them as a “date”. A “date” is not required, nor is this the focus of this celebration. While students may ask another student to attend this dance, they are not allowed to make dance proposals at school in a public way.
2025 Congratulations Yard Signs
If you pre-ordered a sign, you can pick it up in the Pueblo office starting today, Tuesday April 29, during office hours: M/Tu/Th/F 7:30 am - 4:00 pm and Wed. 7:30 am - 2:00 pm.
We ask that parents pick up the signs rather than having students take them home on the bus or walking. Thank you for understanding. If you have yet to pay, please bring $15 cash/check to the office when you pick up. If you did not preorder but would still like a sign, we have a few extras available in the front office. We are excited to start seeing these around the community!
Sunsplash Outing
Friday, May 23, 2025
On Friday, May 23, 2025 we have planned an activity day to celebrate the end of the year for our 8th-grade students. We will spend most of the day at the Golfland/Sunsplash amusement park in Mesa. We will leave campus at 9:15 am and return at 1:15 pm.
The cost of the event is $45, which includes access to water slides and all Golfland attractions. Every student will also receive 2 slices of pizza and a drink. If students would not like the pizza lunch option, or have an allergy, please send them with a packed lunch for the trip. If students want to buy additional food, game funds, or rent a locker, they will need to bring spending money. We are looking forward to a fun day!
Students who have not met the expectations as outlined in the Quarter 4 Expectations Letter and students who are assigned to ISI on May 23rd will not be allowed to attend this outing. Final decisions will be made by Friday, May 16, regarding students not meeting expectations, and students and parents will be notified of ineligibility by phone or email. Students who are ineligible for the Sunsplash field trip will continue their regular day under the supervision of a teacher on campus. All students who will be absent must have a parent call the attendance line at (480) 541-5801.
The $45 fee can be paid online via your online InTouch Payment Portal or in the front office with exact cash or check made out to Pueblo Middle School. Completed (front and back) permission slips and payments are due no later than Friday, May 9, 2025, by the end of the school day, to your child’s leadership teacher; Any late payments or forms will not be considered after this date.
Promotion Ceremony
Wednesday, May 28, 2024
Pueblo Gymnasium
The Pueblo Middle School 8th Grade Promotion ceremonies will be on May 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM for students with last names A-K, and 6:15 PM for students with last names L-Z, in the Pueblo Gymnasium.
Students will be involved in the ceremony, including a musical performance and student speeches. Students’ names will be read aloud, and each student will walk to the front to receive a congratulatory handshake. We will also be celebrating some of our students with community awards, and recognizing their exemplary work throughout their time at Pueblo.
We request that you do not bring bells, whistles, or other noise makers to use when hearing your child’s name. There is no pause between names, and other parents are not able to hear their child’s name when loud noises are made. This is a special occasion, so please dress accordingly!
